Sharjah updates landowners’ data

Move by emirate’s real estate authority clears many gaps in registration records

Sharjah: Sharjah’s Real Estate Registration Department has updated landowners’ data through a two-day campaign that targeted all property and land owners, including investors of various nationalities.

The campaign helped update landowners’ data, especially as some of the records had not been updated for a long time. For instance, resolving the problem of similarity in names that would cause a delay in some transactions. As a solution, landowners’ names were linked with their ID number to avoid any names’ similarities, to facilitate the procedures.

Abdulaziz Ahmed Al Shamsi, Director-General of Sharjah Real Estate Registration Department, stated that the number of landowners who participated in the campaign reached around 2,100 landowners, while the number of property deeds that had been updated totalled 5,000 bonds distributed over the various areas and regions of the emirate.

The campaign ended in the suburbs, but it will continue to operate across different branches of the department, allowing landowners who have not yet updated their data to come to the branches to complete registration and do the updates. The process is completely free of charge.
