RIT Dubai to host Open Week at new DSO campus
Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) Dubai is opening the doors of its state-of-the-art campus to welcome prospective students to explore their study options for the forthcoming academic year. The Open Week will take place from 11th – 15th July at the University’s new development in Dubai Silicon Oasis (DSO) and will incorporate a different information session on each of the five days.
Prospective students are welcome to attend any or all of the daily sessions, which will include guidance on program options, assistance with paperwork and financial planning, a day in the life of an RIT Dubai student, and a general Q&A. Visitors will also have the opportunity to take a campus tour, meet with faculty and students, and learn more about the University’s scholarships, which offer up to 50% off tuition fees.
Admissions are open across all of the University’s ten undergraduate and eight graduate degree programs in business, engineering, and computing disciplines. Each undergraduate course incorporates a cooperative program, which provides students with a unique educational experience where they can apply their learning in a professional setting. As a global campus of the world-renowned US institution, all graduates from the Dubai-based University are awarded a degree from RIT New York.
With students gradually returning to campus-based learning, those joining this Fall will be among the first to experience the ultramodern facilities that are part of the new RIT Dubai development in DSO. Surrounded by offices of some of the world’s leading technology companies, the University opened Phase 1 of its new $136 million campus earlier this year.
The development was built with an overarching theme of interactive learning and spans 129,000 square meters, with collaborative teaching and research facilities to accommodate up to 4,000 students. Designed as a positive and healthy environment, the space aims to encourage independence, informal and creative meetings, socializing and participation.
With an emphasis on experiential learning, the campus features innovative educational spaces that include a HP Gaming Lounge located in the Business and Management Department, as well as a range of dedicated labs for teaching and research in smart energy, robotics, networking and security, thermo fluids, human factors, and many other disciplines. Students will also have access to extensive amenities including a fitness center, activity rooms, clinic, dining hall, a prayer room, communal lounges, and nearby public transportation.
The campus will be open to registered visitors from 9am-6pm throughout the Open Week.
