Renowned pianist, composer, and humanitarian Omar Harfouch is set to debut his Concerto for Peace at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées in Paris, France, on September 18, 2024. This gala performance reflects Harfouch's dedication to using music as a tool for fostering global harmony and promoting social change. The concerto, composed and orchestrated by Harfouch and his long-time collaborator Houtaf Khoury, marks a significant milestone in both his musical career and philanthropic efforts.

The Concerto for Peace is a 17-minute composition for piano and philharmonic orchestra, designed to create an immersive experience. This performance will feature the 66-piece Béziers Méditerranée Symphony Orchestra, conducted by the esteemed Mathieu Bonnin, who has been integral to the project’s European tour. The next stop on the tour will be at the United Nations in Geneva on September 20, 2024, in honor of the International Day of Peace on September 21, followed by performances at the Vatican, the Italian Parliament, other venues in Europe, and even Shanghai.

Omar Harfouch reflects on the significance of this initiative: “I wish to break through the noise of discord with Concerto for Peace. The aim is to offer a moment of collective serenity.”

The debut of Concerto for Peace highlights the growing intersection of music and philanthropy, where art is increasingly used to address global challenges. Alongside Concerto for Peace, Harfouch's repertoire includes notable works like La Fantaisie Orientale and Save One Life, You Save All Humanity. Each composition demonstrates his commitment to blending musical innovation with powerful ethical themes. La Fantaisie Orientale, which features traditional oriental instruments, focuses on cultural integration and artistic excellence.

Harfouch’s advocacy is also reflected in his recent appointments and awards. In December 2023, he was named Honorary President of the European NGO Dialogue and Diversity. Additionally, the CAEL Award for his Concerto for Peace and the Universal Peace Prize from the International League Against Racism and Antisemitism (LICRA) affirm his influential role in using music to advocate for peace and unity. Most recently, Kevin Costner presented him with the World Peace Prize at the Venice Film Festival.
