Mappable partners with Fujairah GIS Center, Emirates Transport and Emarat at GITEX 2024
Mappable, a global provider of customizable and locally relevant geospatial and mapping solutions, has announced three strategic partnerships with the Fujairah Center for Geographic Information Systems (Fujairah GIS Center), Emirates Transport (ET), and Emirates Petroleum Company (Emarat). The agreements, signed during GITEX 2024 in Dubai—one of the world’s leading technology events—mark a major milestone in Mappable’s mission to support public and private sector growth across the UAE with cutting-edge geospatial technologies.
These partnerships aim to enhance infrastructure, navigation, and logistics services throughout the UAE. Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) were signed by key executives, including Dr Ahmed Hassan Almurshidi, General Director of Fujairah GIS Center; AbdelHamid Sba, Chairman of Emirates Transport Technology Solutions; and Ali Bin Zayed, Senior Vice President of Marketing at Emarat. Through these collaborations, ET, Emarat, and Fujairah GIS Center will leverage Mappable’s geospatial technologies to improve service quality, operational efficiencies, and customer experiences. For Mappable, these agreements represent a significant step in expanding its footprint within the UAE’s GIS market, which is projected to reach $2.15 billion by 2032.
Under its MoU with Fujairah GIS Center, Mappable will integrate advanced geospatial solutions into the Center’s systems, enhancing the accuracy and availability of real-time mapping data for urban planning. This will enable users to access essential location-based services across Fujairah. Speaking on the collaboration, Dr Almurshidi said, “Our cooperation with Mappable is a vital step toward enhancing the Center’s services through innovative technologies. Mappable’s expertise aligns with our goal of transforming Fujairah into a smart city, improving user experiences and access to services.”
The partnership with Emirates Transport involves integrating Mappable’s mapping solutions into Abu Dhabi’s taxi fleet, improving navigation, pick-up and drop-off accuracy, and enhancing the user experience with real-time estimated time of arrival (ETA) features. AbdelHamid Sba remarked, “This collaboration reflects our commitment to adopting cutting-edge technologies in transportation. These geospatial tools will enhance our fleet’s operational efficiency, ensuring better service delivery.”
Additionally, Mappable has partnered with Emarat to integrate its interactive mapping solutions into the EmCan loyalty app. This will help users locate nearby fuel stations with precision, navigate effortlessly, and support future location-based features. Ali Bin Zayed commented, “This partnership aligns with our vision of leveraging technology to enhance customer service. Mappable’s geospatial expertise will improve navigation, delivering a superior experience at every touchpoint.”
The partnerships with Fujairah GIS Center, Emirates Transport, and Emarat highlight Mappable’s dedication to advancing the UAE’s strategic goals for transportation and infrastructure. These collaborations pave the way for future expansions into other sectors across the region.
