The sixth horse race at the Sixth Race Meeting, part of Dubai Racing Club’s 2021-22 racing season held at the Meydan Racecourse on December 23, was officiated by the Indian Business and Professional Council (IBPC) Dubai. The value partnership, created in the spirit of and to further cordial relations shared by the UAE and India, also helped recognise the notable contributions made by IBPC to support the business community and promote trade between both nations.

Dr Aman Puri, Consul General of India, Dubai, presented the trophy to the race winner in the presence of Dilip Sinha, Secretary General of IBPC and Vice President, nVent Inc. Also present were IBPC governing board members, Surender Singh Kandhari (Chairman - Al Dobowi Group), Siddharth Balachandran (Chairman - Buimerc Corporation), and Paras Shahdadpuri (Chairman - Nikai Group of Companies), as well as IBPC Investment Forum Convener, Skandan Mahalingam (Managing Director - Ideal Management Consultants). IBPC Women Forum Convener, Jaya Mahalingam (Director - Ideal Management Consultants), was also present at the race event.

IBPC Dubai, which has Dr Ahmed Al Banna, UAE Ambassador to India, and Dr Puri among its ranks of valued patrons, is a non-profit organisation respresenting the interests of the Indian business and professional diaspora in Dubai.

“It is a great honour and recognition for IBPC to present the award today,” said Sinha during the event. As its Secretary General, Sinha views the objectives of IBPC as primarily being to enhance and support two-way trade between the UAE and India and champion policy advocacy.

“It also seeks to forge strong links with various business councils in the UAE and India, having recently in fact collaborated with CII, FICCI, Assochem and the Indian Merchants Chamber, as well as several state officials,” said Sinha. He also hopes that IBPC Dubai be seen as the perfect networking platform by the enterprising Indian business community present in the Emirate.

“IBPC is the only official Indian business council in Dubai to be officially affiliated to the Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry."
