Glinks International, a premier education consulting firm in the GCC, successfully hosted “The Glinks International Education Fair”— one of the largest annual higher education fairs—on September 8 and 9, 2024, in Dubai and Fujairah. The event served as a platform for prospective students to connect with representatives from over 25 universities across Canada, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, USA, UK, Ireland, New Zealand, and the UAE. With a total visitor count exceeding 1,600, the fair highlighted the increasing interest among students and parents in studying abroad, according to a media release.
Commenting on the fair’s success, Prabhjeet Singh, CEO and Founder of Glinks, said, “The high attendance of students seeking quality education overseas is a testament to the fair’s impact. It reflects the trust students and parents place in Glinks and motivates us to continue helping students identify education options best suited to their needs. The participating universities are well-reputed institutions known for their quality education and affordability, offering a wide range of programs across diverse disciplines, including arts, education, sciences, and business.”
The first day of the event, held on September 8 at the Sheraton Grand Hotel in Dubai, featured over 25 globally reputed universities known for their world-class education, state-of-the-art campuses, and vibrant academic environments. Participating institutions included Acadia University, Bow Valley College, Bronte College, Brock University, Clark University, Columbia College, Grenfell Campus - Memorial University, HTMi, Huron University, McMaster University, Middlesex University Dubai, Mount Allison University, North Island College, POLIMI, Sheridan College, St. Francis Xavier University, Technological University of Shannon, Thompson Rivers University, University of Essex, University of Manitoba, University of New Brunswick, University of Otago, University of Saskatchewan, University of Waterloo, University of Windsor, and Wilfrid Laurier University.
The event featured in-depth discussions by representatives on enrollment procedures, tuition and scholarship options, academic programs, student employment, and career opportunities. Alumni also shared practical advice to help students navigate their academic journeys. Additionally, interactive workshops on portfolio building, skill acquisition, and career enhancement ensured a comprehensive experience for all attendees.
On the second day in Fujairah, Glinks held the first large-scale overseas education fair in the emirate, in association with St. Mary’s Catholic High School, Fujairah. Led by Principal Mr. Suresh Kumar L., the school played a key role in inviting students from various regional schools, including Royal Private English School, Indian School Modern Indian School – Dibba, Diyar Private Academy, GEMS Winchester Fujairah, and Pakistan Islamia Higher Secondary School. This collaboration transformed the inaugural event into a monumental success. The participating universities provided an environment for students and teachers to explore, learn, and seek guidance on obtaining degrees in Canada, New Zealand, the US, the UK, and Europe.
During the fair, attendees availed themselves of Glinks' comprehensive advisory services, which guide students through streamlined preparation for admission. With an expansive network of more than 170 universities across 17+ countries, Glinks has helped over 11,000 students enroll in their dream institutions in recent years. Several participating universities offered application fee waivers, encouraging students to apply early for the September 2025 intake. This approach ensures that the often-lengthy enrollment process is smoother and hassle-free for students.
The fair also addressed crucial education-related issues, particularly recent Canadian policy amendments for international students. Education consultants clarified the new regulations, explaining that the changes ensure transparency of applications and protection of legitimate students studying in the country. Graduates of public universities can opt for a Post Graduate Work Permit (PGWP) after completing their studies. Canada continues to be one of the leading destinations for higher education, and the annual limit on applications will help maintain the country’s education and living standards for international students.
From counseling to admission guidance and post-academic support, Glinks provides continuous assistance to its students, ensuring a seamless academic experience. It recently announced that its students have secured $5.5 billion in scholarships at prestigious universities, with some receiving up to 100 percent waivers on tuition fees.
