ChelseaGREEN sponsors Vendetta Racing at The Bonneville Motorcycle Speed Trials

Dubai-based furniture supplier ChelseaGREEN is showcasing its dedication to ergonomics by sponsoring a specially crafted and highly efficient custom-built bike set to compete in the Bonneville Motorcycle Speed Trials. Scheduled for August 24th-29th, 2024, this annual event takes place at Utah’s historic Bonneville salt flats.

The motorcycle, conceived and constructed from scratch in the UAE by Vendetta Racing Founder and rider Alan Boyter, aims to achieve a straight-line speed of 200 mph. This ambitious goal would secure Alan two FIM land speed world records in the two-cylinder 1000cc class. Given this high-speed objective, ergonomics played a pivotal role in the bike’s development, according to a media release.

A distinctive feature of the ergonomic bike is its prone rider position, where the rider lies face down with their torso on the seat rather than sitting upright. Designed to minimize wind resistance, the bike is low to the ground, with precise measurements tailored meticulously to fit the rider.

Discussing the design, Vendetta Racing Founder Alan Boyter emphasized, “Motorcycle ergonomics significantly influence comfort, performance, and control. While there are standard guidelines for fitting a motorcycle to its rider, optimal fit enhances efficiency and speed. In this case, speed was prioritized over comfort, hence the decision for a prone position which enhances aerodynamics. The bike’s construction spanned over two years, incorporating various refinements. We are eager to test it at Utah’s Speed Week.”
