Abu Dhabi's Jubail Island to get Dh86m highway interchange

Featuring dual-lane entrance and exit ramps, project is scheduled for August 21 finish



The developer of the Jubail Island master-development in Abu Dhabi is on track with contract awards. So far, it has issued Dh486 million worth of contracts.

Dubai: The Jubail Island Investment Company has awarded a Dh86 million interchange contract for its master-development in Abu Dhabi to Gulf Contractors Company. The scope of the project includes construction of a new highway interchange on Sheikh Khalifa Highway (E-12) to provide public access to the first phase of community development on Jubail Island.

Work on the interchange is scheduled for completion in August 2021. It will include dual-lane entrance and exit ramps, as well as a fully signalized bridge crossing over the highway to connect with the development’s internal roadway network.

The developer has to date issued infrastructure contracts valued at Dh486 million. The overall infrastructure works on Jubail Island will amount to approximately Dh600 million,

“With infrastructure works starting in early January 2020, we are excited to confirm that works on villa construction will begin by year end, and villa handover is slated for 2023,” said Mounir Haidar, Managing Director of JIIC. “The Jubail Island project is proceeding on schedule, with crucial infrastructure works already being executed in a timely manner.”
