ADU’s Dean of the College of Business, Professor Barry O’Mahony, explained: “When we set out to respond to the significant changes required in our business degree programs, we were driven by the Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030 goal to develop a highly skilled and highly productive workforce. We were also informed by the World Economic Forum’s international insights on the future of work.

"They referred to workplace changes as a reskilling revolution, where most future jobs will be dominated by new technologies but there will also be an emphasis on human factors related to the services.

“As we set out to infuse our programs with a digital culture to allow our students to understand disruptive technologies and digital strategy, we included artificial intelligence, business analytics, information and digital technology, and business mathematics. To prepare our students for long term, meaningful careers in industry and government, we benchmarked our curriculum with the Association for the Advancement of Collegiate Business Schools, which has over 1900 members worldwide, and we also conducted our own workplace survey.

"As a result, we retained the foundations of business management, but added the human factors or soft skills required to support industry and government organisations. Each degree was then infused with relevant advanced technology.”

The ADU College of Business’ emphasis on highly developed skills that can be practically utilised in the professional workforce is consistent with the UAE Commission for Academic Accreditation Standards’ vision that Academic Institutions in the UAE produce students with the knowledge, skills and competencies to meet the modern demands of each profession.

“Through this forward-thinking approach, we will provide our students with the knowledge, skills and continuous learning mindset required to thrive in a digitally dominated global workplace. Our students will be effective communicators adept at using information technology in multi-cultural, professional environments and will apply their skills in problem solving and decision making to develop effective business solutions,” Professor O’Mahony said.

Currently positioned as the no. 1 college of business in the UAE and joint second in the GCC and Arab region, the college’s reputation speaks for itself. Having double international accreditation from AACSB and EQUIS, the College stands among the elite 1 per cent of business schools globally to have earned these prestigious accolades. These esteemed accreditations and rankings not only affirm commitment to excellence but also offer substantial international recognition of the caliber of the college’s programs.
