World’s second-largest economy grew slightly below expectations in third quarter

Beijing: China’s economy continued its rebound from bruising coronavirus lockdowns in the third quarter, clocking 4.9 per cent growth on-year, a step closer to pre-pandemic levels, official data showed Monday.
The world’s second-largest economy grew slightly below expectations in the July-September period, the National Bureau of Statistics said, cautioning of uncertainty ahead as “the international environment is still complicated”.
