First examples of the $5.4 million Bugatti Divo heading to customers

Based on the Chiron, the limited edition hypercar is built to carve up the corners

The first models of the limited edition Bugatti Divo - introduced in 2018 - are finally on their way to customers with the storied carmaker saying it is the “most breathtaking and exclusive hyper sports cars of modern times.” Image Credit: Bugatti

Customers had been asking for an “agile and corner-hungry car” and so Bugatti went to work on building a model which would be “very different from the Chiron” and of course even more exclusive. A prototype was built and taken to various testing grounds including the Nürburgring where it traveled more than 5,000km while being tested at speeds up to 380kph. The prototype’s chassis was also fine-tuned but the engineers did not stop there. Image Credit: Bugatti

They ensured the Divo was 35kg lighter than the Chiron by installing lighter wheels and a new carbon fibre intercooler cover. Image Credit: Bugatti

Its unique styling was not overly aggressive for the sake of it - it was designed to create an additional 90kg of downforce too. Image Credit: Bugatti

It retained the quad-turbocharged 8.0-litre W16 engine from the Chiron which was tweaked to produce 1,479 horsepower enabling the Divo to hit a top speed of 380kph. Image Credit: Bugatti
