BMW 7 Series in which rapper Tupac Shakur was fatally shot is for sale…
It has been nearly 25 years since rapper Tupac Shakur was shot dead while being driven in his BMW 750Li - and now the black German saloon is hitting the auction block.
On September 7, 1996, the legendary “Changes” US rapper was in the passenger seat and being driven from a Mike Tyson fight at the MGM Grand in Vegas by Death Row Records CEO Suge Knight.
At a stoplight, a drive-by shooting took place and the star, only 25 years of age, was shot four times. He was rushed to the University Medical Center of Southern Nevada and kept on life support in an intensive care unit. Six days later, he was pronounced dead.
Brooklyn rapper Biggie Smalls was accused of being behind the slaying, but he denied any involvement — and was fatally shot to death six months later in a drive-by shooting. To this day, murders remain a mystery.
Currently owned by Death Row Records, the E38 – which was featured in the History Channel reality series “Pawn Stars” in 2018 – passed through the hands of many owners and at one stage, the panels riddled with bullets were removed and replaced. It has 121,000 miles on the odometer and is being listed with a starting price of a whopping $1.75 million.
“This is the first time this car has ever been up for sale or on display since [Shakur's] death in 1996,” the listing reads. “It has been completely restored to the condition it was in before his death and has just received a new coat of paint.”
According to the sites listing, there is one indentation on the car from where a bullet went into it and given the car’s history along with the mythical status that Tupac has accrued over the years we can see why the 7 Series has such a high valuation but remember, a more regular version can be found online for as little $10,000.
We guess only the biggest of Tupac fans will be willing to shell out millions for this one…
