Look! China’s WEY VV7 SUV tuned... by Brabus

The tuner’s latest effort will sure turn heads, and for several reasons...

Brabus is a high-performance aftermarket tuning company which specializes in Mercedes-Benz, Smart and Maybach vehicles but this time it has dressed up something totally different – the WEY VV7 GT. Image Credit: Brabus

If you didn’t know, the Wey brand is the luxury arm of China’s Great Wall and it focuses mainly on crossovers and SUVs. About a year ago it signed a deal with the celebrated German tuning firm and here is their first collaboration. Image Credit: Brabus

Based on the Haval H6, the modified VV7 GT isn’t exactly what you would call subtle - it looks properly aggressive now that the famed tuner has fettled with it. Image Credit: Brabus

The regular VV7 GT is quite striking but the Brabus-tuned example makes it a head turner. It has dressed up the family hauler with flared fenders, 21in black alloys with red brake calipers hiding behind them, and completely redesigned the front and rear bumpers… Image Credit: Brabus

It’s also added a black rear diffuser which also integrates larger exhaust pipes, an F1-style rear brake light, tinted windows and an enlarged rear deck lid spoiler. The Chinese manufacturer hasn’t provided photos of the cabin yet but it is said to be getting a few touches, too. Image Credit: Brabus

We are also used to Brabus enhancing the performance of the vehicle it works on, but this time, it has left the WEY’s 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder alone and so it still makes 227 horsepower and 387Nm of torque. It is mated to a seven-speed automatic transmission sending power to the front wheels. Prices start at 191,800 yuans or approximately $27,100 at the current exchange rates. Image Credit: Brabus
