Iranian President Hassan Rouhani took to Twitter to praise his country’s 0-0 draw with Nigeria on Monday.
Rouhani tweeted a picture of himself looking very relaxed as he watched the World Cup match on TV.
Proud of our boys who secured our first point--hopefully the first of many more to come. #WorldCup2014 #TeamMelli pic.twitter.com/9pzyT1Dr3f— Hassan Rouhani (@HassanRouhani) June 16, 2014
In the picture, the leader has swapped his usual clerical robe and white turban for a casual outfit of dark tracksuit bottoms and a white T-shirt with the team’s badge on it.
On the table in front of him is a mid-game snack of fruits and tea.
Iran's next match is against mighty Argentina on Saturday June 21 at Estádio Mineirão in Belo Horizonte.
