Dubai: Badminton Buddies, Abu Dhabi joined SUBC and 4B at the top of their respective groups in the Level C competition as the fourth edition of Shuttle Time Dubai Club Championship got under way at Dubai Sports World last week.
The opening day matches witnessed some thrilling matches as eight Level C teams engaged in action in three groups. SUBC blanked Sri Lankan Badminton League 5-0, while 4B and Badminton Buddies Abu Dhabi won 3-2 and 4-1 against Yonex WS2 and Captain Badminton, respectively.
Action will continue at Dubai Sports World with matches in Level B and C starting at 4pm today.
Earlier, Ghazi Al Madani, Chairman, UAE Badminton Federation opened the competition spanning seven Fridays and scheduled for a conclusion on August 31.
Al Madani was also present at the announcement of the partnership between the UAE Badminton Federation with Medeor 24x7 as its official medical partner for the forthcoming Dubai International Junior Series and the Dubai International Challenge to be held in September and November respectively.
Meanwhile, the third UAE National Umpire Certification Course was also conducted with the 24 selected candidates going through the five-day course conducted by Matthew Varghese.
