Dubai: Saudi Arabia will impose a fine of up to 500,000 riyals on any passenger who fails to disclose correct health-related information at entry points in the kingdom, Al Arabiya reported on Monday.
The move comes as part of strict measures being taken by Saudi Arabia to contain the spread of coronavirus. Today, health authorities in the country reported four new coronavirus cases, bringing the total cases to 15. The ministry added that new cases include one Saudi national, two Bahrainis and an American.
Authorities have already called on citizens who have travelled to Iran over the past few weeks to declare the details of their visit. This is because most of the reported cases are either people who travelled to Iran or have been in contact with people who went there. "If you were in Iran in the past 14 days, take the initiative and declare it; protect your health and the health of your family," said a Saudi civil aviation authority tweet.
