New Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs, other key officials named in government reshuffle
Saudi King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud has issued a royal order relieving Dr. Ibrahim bin Abdulaziz Al-Assaf, Minister of Foreign Affairs, of his post and appointing Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah bin Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud as Minister of Foreign Affairs, the official news agency SPA announced on Wednesday.
Prince Faisal thanked the leadership on his appointment.
He hailed his predecessor and expressed his pride in joining the Saudi diplomatic family.
In another Royal Decree, King Salman also relieved Dr. Nabil bin Mohammed Al Amoudi, Minister of Transport, of his post and appointed Engineer Saleh bin Nasser bin Ali Al-Jasser as Minister of Transport.
The King also appointed Dr. Ibrahim bin Abdulaziz Al-Assaf as Minister of the State and Member of the Cabinet.
Dr. Abdullah bin Sharaf bin Jamaan Al-Ghamdi has been appointed Chairman of the Saudi Commission for Data and Artificial Intelligence at the rank of minister, according to a tweet by the SPA.
Dr. Essam bin Abdullah bin Khalaf Al-Waqit was appointed Director of the National Information Center.
Dr. Tariq Abdullah Al-Sheddi was appointed as the Head of the National Data Management Office.
