COVID-19: Qatar reports 3 deaths, 1,595 new cases

Country’s total infections have risen to 68,790

Dubai: Qatar’s Ministry of Public Health has announced the detection of 1,595 new coronavirus infections, taking the country’s tally to 68,790.

According to the ministry’s statement issued on Sunday, the virus has claimed three more lives, pushing the death toll to 54.

The ministry also revealed that 1,811 COVID-19 patients have recovered from the disease during the last 24 hours, raising the total number of recovered cases to 44,338, while leaving 24,389 active cases are still under treatment.

The new cases were detected after the ministry’s epidemiological teams conducted 4, 142 tests in last 24 hours, taking the total tests conducted across the country to 255,533 tests.

The ministry highlighted that there has been a slight decline in the number of daily reported cases, as well as in the number of critically infected people being admitted to intensive care units, thanks to the measures taken by health authorities to stem the spread of the coronavirus.
