Dubai: Bahrain’s Ministry of Health has reported 573 new COVID-19 cases among foreign workers and some from recent arrivals to the island kingdom, according to health officials.

Health officials said that 297 expatriate workers were detected with the virus in the past 24 hours, 246 others were infected from local contacts while 30 cases were detected in recent arrivals from abroad.

The ministry of health also confirmed that 735 patients recovered from coronavirus bringing the total number of recoveries in the country to 23,318 so far.

The latest update reveals that there are currently 58 COVID-19 patients receiving treatment, of which 48 are in a critical condition. Over 4,949 cases are stable out of a total of 4,997 active cases. The total number of those discharged stands at 23,318.

Bahrain has conducted over 584,070 tests. Bahrain recorded one fatality yesterday, a 64-year-old Bahraini man taking the toll to 95.

Meanwhile, disinfection campaigns are being carried out as part of the national efforts to combat coronavirus.
