10 injured in Bahrain blast

Explosion attributed to gas leak at restaurant

Cairo: Ten people were injured in an explosion inside a restaurant in Bahrain, according to media reports.

The casualties were two Bahraini nationals and eight Asians, Akhbar Al Khaleej newspaper said.

Initial investigations revealed that the blast, which occurred Friday night, was caused by a gas leak in the area of Tubli in eastern Bahrain. The blast resulted in damage at the restaurant.

The Interior Ministry tweeted that civil defence dealt with the gas leak that had caused the explosion.

The ministry added that a number of individuals were injured in the incident.
