Philippines: Typhoon grounds local, foreign airlines
New low-pressure area likely to develop into tropical depression as Haikui exits
Manila: Flights have been suspended from Manila to several destinatons in China, and vice-versa, owing to the threat from Typhoon Haikui in western Pacific.
The Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) announced that Philippine Airlines (PAL), Cebu Pacific Air (CEB), AirAsia Philippines (AAP), Cathay Pacific (CX), and China Southern Airlines (CZ) have suspended their flights to Hong Kong, Canton, Xiamen, and Jinjiang, China.
Civil aviation authorities stated that cancelled flights as of Friday morning were:

Quoting the airlines, the MIAA said: "The flight's status is updated in real time, and there is no need to call the contact center to verify the information.”
At 5pm on Friday, Typhoon Haikui (local code: Hanna) was seen maintaining its strength as it decelerates westward in the northern Philippines. It is seen at 550km East Northeast of Itbayat, Batanes at 2am on September 2, 2023.
