Pakistan’s medical mission to provide free treatment to Hajj pilgrims in Saudi Arabia
Islamabad: The Pakistani Hajj mission has established a health facility in the holy city of Medina to provide free medical treatment to Pakistani Hajj pilgrims, according to the Ministry of Religious Affairs.
The 24/7 health facility consists of a team of highly skilled doctors, nurses, and medical staff equipped with all the necessary healthcare equipment and a minor operation theatre. The facility offers round-the-clock assistance with emergency care and ward retention facilities for intending pilgrims, says Dr Waleed, a member of the Pakistani Hajj medical mission.
The health facility is fully equipped with a laboratory, X-ray machine, pharmacy, and dentistry services. Additionally, there is a retention facility and dispensary that provide free medicines to patients.
“The staff is well-prepared to address any health concerns, provide medical aid, and offer guidance to the pilgrims” according to religious ministry officials. “They are equipped to handle a wide range of medical issues, including the diagnosis and treatment of common illnesses, injuries, and other health-related challenges that may arise during the pilgrimage.”
The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony has announced the establishment of two health centres in Mecca and Medina, where pilgrims can access medical facilities. Pakistani pilgrims in the KSA can also reach out to authorities for any information on the helpline number 800 1166622.
