RSS organises show of strength in Hyderabad when other rallies prohibited
Hyderabad: While prohibitory orders were enforced in Hyderabad and other parts of Telangana to prevent any protest rallies against citizenship amendment act (CAA), Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), ideological parent of BJP, held a massive show of strength in the city.
Thousands of stick-wielding members of RSS took out a rally on the city roads to the beats of bands and marched in columns on the busy road from LB Nagar to Saroornagar stadium.
Police authorities permission to the right wing organisation to conduct such a massive rally, bringing traffic to a standstill, raised many eyebrows specially among Muslims because police had refused permission to any rally against the NRC over the last 10 days.
Police have also refused permission to the main opposition Congress party to hold a rally on coming Saturday.
Addressing the rally RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat said RSS sees all the 1.3 billion as Hindus. “all those who consider Bharat (India) as their mother land were Hindus”, he said.
RSS, which advocates turning India into Hindu Rashtra (Hindu nation), is largely seen as the driving force behind Narendra Modi regime’s measures to marginalise country’s 200 million Muslim population.
The rally was part of “Vijay Sankalp” camp of the organisation which will continue for three days.
