India: 90-year-old who confessed to killing wife, daughter in law held

'Was worried about bed-ridden wife, mentally challenged daughter-in-law in case he dies'

Mumbai: A 90-year-old man was arrested after he confessed to killing his bed-ridden wife and mentally challenged daughter-in-law, Sanjiv Pimple, Senior Inspector at Meghwadi Police Station, here said on Tuesday.

Speaking to ANI, the senior inspector claimed that the accused, identified as Purushottam Singh, told the police that he was worried of their welfare in the event of his death.

The accused has been sent to three days in police custody for the alleged murder, he said.

“We had arrested Purushottam Singh and sent him to 3-days in police custody after he confessed to murdering his bed-ridden wife and mentally challenged daughter in Sher-e-Punjab Colony, as he was worried about what would happen to them after he dies,” Pimple said.

The police, however, did not reveal how the old man killed them.
