Hyderabad: The electoral-blitzkrieg by all the major political parties in Telangana has now converged on the greater Hyderabad city, which has 24 assembly seats as several star campaigners focused on different parts of the urban area on Sunday.

BJP, which was trying to expand its footprint across the state, went all out with its national president Amit Shah, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and firebrand monk Yogi Adityanath, and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari addressing election meetings in different constituencies of the city. The build up will culminate into a massive public rally in Hyderabad on Monday to be addressed by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Adityanath, after addressing meetings at different places during the day, rounded up his campaign with an election meeting in Goshamahal constituency in Hyderabad in the evening.

Seeking support for the controversial BJP leader Raja Singh, Adityanath said that Rama Rajya was possible only through the BJP as the Congress and the TRS were resorting to the divisive politics and dividing the people on the caste and the communal lines.

“BJP doesn’t believe in ruling through the caste and communal politics. The other parties were showering sops on Muslims for the sake of their votes while BJP wants development of all the communities,” he said.

Earlier, addressing another meeting in Sangareddy, Adityanath challenged KCR on how he will give 12 per cent reservations to Muslims. “Owaisi will run away when the BJP comes to power in the state,” he said.

Adityanath asserted that the Modi-led government at the centre was working for the development of the Telangana state.

At another meeting, Shah said that the fight in Telangana was between TRS, a puppet in the hands of MIM, Congress, whose leader Navjot Singh Siddhu had embraced the Pakistan army chief and BJP, a party nationalists led by Modi.

K Chandrasekhar Rao indulged in massive corruption for the benefit of his family, Shah alleged. “Fearing a tsunami of Modi in 2019, KCR advanced the assembly elections. But it will not save him from electoral defeat,” he said.

Asking the people whether they want a government that dances to the tune of MIM, Shah announced that on coming to power BJP will officially celebrate Hyderabad Liberation Day on September 17 every year.

On the other hand, TRS supremo K Chandrasekhar Rao addressed a mammoth rally at Parade Grounds in Secunderabad on Sunday evening urging the people to vote him back to power to continue his developmental and welfare programmes and fulfil the dream of Golden Telangana.

Lashing out at the People’s Front, comprising of Congress, TDP and other parties KCR warned that Telangana will have “dark days” if the opposition alliance comes to power in the state. Targeting his Andhra Pradesh counterpart he said that Chandrababu Naidu was trying to rule the state from the backdoor.

“A serious threat is hovering over Telangana from the People’s Front and the BJP”, he said.

Meanwhile the campaign of Telugu Desam also turned high voltage with Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and party president N Chandrababu Naidu and party MLA and popular film star N Balakrishna undertaking road shows and addressing meetings in different constituencies of the city on Sunday.
