UAE’s happiness patrols make a difference

Summer handouts go a long way in protecting community

Dubai: The Al Ain Traffic Department at the Traffic and Patrols Directorate and the Happiness Patrol at the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters implemented a community-based humanitarian initiative entitled “We make it easier for them” with the participation of NMC Hospital - Al Ain, which included the distribution of cold water bottles and caps to 500 people working in various professions in the city.

The initiative also included the distribution of digital awareness brochures that included tips and instructions on the importance of pedestrians’ commitment to safe crossing at designated places in order to enhance their safety.

Colonel Matar Abdullah Al Muhairi, Director of Al Ain Traffic Department, explained that the initiative comes out of concern for workers.

Major Nasser Saleh bin Badwa Al Darmaki, head of the happiness patrol team at the directorate, stressed on the authorities’ keenness to spread happiness and positivity in the community .
