Sharjah Charity donates 6,500 school bags to deserving students
Sharjah: The Sharjah Charity International launched its ‘Back to School’ campaign on Tuesday to help underprivileged students.
Saeed Ghanem Al Suwaidi, a member of the Board of Directors of the Sharjah Charity International, said the exhibition was held to provide school bags to children from needy families.
The 6,500 school bags to be distributed will also include school supplies that students require for their academic day. The initiative is part of the association’s programmes to support students and alleviate the financial burdens associated with the cost of these bags.
Al Suwaidi said: “We understand the worries that disturb some low-income families at the beginning of the academic year, which is why we launch the ‘Back to School’ campaign every year to provide school bags to needy families.”
He said that the campaign is part of the educational assistance provided by the association in support of students from underprivileged families. He noted that the association’s support for students continues throughout the year by accepting requests for assistance with tuition fees from those who are struggling to pay their educational dues. He also highlighted that over the past eight years, the association has managed to provide 53,000 school bags to needy students.
“We invite donors to support such campaigns and projects of the association, to help us reach out to more families in need. We certainly rely on the support and donations of generous individuals and entities,” he said.
