UAE: It is a double celebration for new parents who welcomed their newborns on the special occasion of Eid Al Fitr in the UAE today.

A Pakistani baby born at 12am sharp at Burjeel Hospital in Abu Dhabi was among the first to arrive.

Parents Irfan Khan and Saba Irfan welcomed their third child Shahmeer Khan at 12 am sharp. Dr. Fady Georges Hachem, Consultant, Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Burjeel Hospital, Abu Dhabi, helped deliver the baby boy with a weight of 2.70kg and a height of 49 cm.

“We are thrilled to welcome our newest family member. His arrival has doubled our joy on this auspicious day,” said Irfan.

Dr. Hachem said: “It is a great privilege for us as doctors to be the first people to hold these babies as they come into the world. The baby’s birth on a special day adds to the joy of their family. We are delighted and wish baby Shahmeer and his family the very best,” he said said.

At Medeor Hospital, Abu Dhabi, an Egyptian expat couple welcomed their third child at 12.01am on Eid- Al-Fitr day. Little Ayla weighed 3.61kg and was delivered with the help of Dr. (Prof.) Walid El-Sherbiny, Consultant, Obstetrics & Gynaecology & HOD at hospital. The parents Amira Magdy and Khaled Fahmy are on top of the world.

“Ayla is our third child. This pregnancy was a surprise for us. Now, Ayla surprised us again by coming to us as the most precious gift from above on this blessed day. We are thrilled to hold our angel in our arms,” said Amira.

“Children are God’s gift, and it’s a privilege for me to be a part of the auspicious occasion. The staff at Medeor Hospital would like to extend our warm regards to them. We wish the best for the baby and the parents to have a healthy and happy life ahead,” said Dr El-Sherbiny.

At NMC Royal Hospital, Sharjah, Emirati baby girl Noura Sultan was born at 12.20 am. Her father Sultan Shail was excited and felt blessed for the birth of his second child on this special day. Dr. Rabab Hilmy, Consultant, Obstertrics and Gynaecology, helped deliver the child through C-Section. Noura weighed 2.94kg.

Dr Hilmy said: “We are blessed to be part of this auspicious occasion. My patients are like my family and it brings me joy to see them healthy and safe. The baby girl Noura Sultan is the first baby of Eid in our hospital. She is doing well and so is her mother. I wish the family the blessings of Allah and Eid Mubarak to everyone,”

Father Shail said: “We are very happy to share our joy with the rest of the world on Eid. May Allah keep his blessings on us all.”

In the same hospital, an Iraqi baby boy, Yousuf, weighing 3.06kg was born at 2.03 am. His parents Shadan Waleed Alhishma, a pharmacist and father Dr. Mustafa Mohamed Alobaidi, an orthopaedic surgeon, were excited to welcome their second born. Dr. Rabab Hilmy, Consultant Obstetrics and Gynaecology, at the NMC Royal Hospital Sharjah helped deliver the baby through C-Section.

Dr Hilmy said: “The Iraqi parents couple are new to this country and what a wonderful auspicious moment to bring in their second born on the day of Eid.”

At 3.57 am, a Palestinian baby was born at Thumbay University Hospital in Ajman. Parents Mohammed T.S. Abushaban and mother Baraa were elated to welcome their child on this auspicious day. The father said: “We have been blessed with a healthy baby boy on the auspicious occasion of Eid Al Fitr. The baby was due a week earlier, but with Allah’s will he was born at 3.57 am on the first day of Eid. He is truly a gift from Allah to us.”

Dr Amal Hassan Abddelaziz, Head of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Thumbay University Hospital Ajman, said: “Baraa came to emergency with strong labour pain around midnight. We had to rush her to the labour room and assist her in the delivery, and what a relief it was to hear her baby’s strong first cry.”

At 5.57 am, Sudanese expat baby Dhalia was born at NMC Specialty Hospital in Abu Dhabi. Weighing 3.10kg, she brought immense joy to her parents Lubna Abdurabo and Missara Mohammed. The baby’s delivery was facilitated by Dr. Sheetal Suresh Manivachagan.

“We are very happy that our third child was born on Eid Al Fitr Day. It is truly a blessing,” the father said.

Filipino baby boy Delfin Jake IV P.Guillergan was born in Prime Hospital at 12.27am. Weighing 2.140kg, the baby was born to mother Marie and father Delfin Hugo III C.Guillergan. “Today is a special day and we are blessed to have our boy born on this auspicious day,” said the father.

Dr Zobaida Saloum, Specialist, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, who helped deliver the baby with Dr Shizra Shahnawaz, noted: "It is a good feeling to have a baby born on the first day of Eid."

Danat Al Emarat Hospital for Women and Children, a Mubadala Health partner, welcomed its first Eid baby at 3.48am. It was double joy for Emirati father AlHassan Al-Kindi who welcomed Eid Al Fitr with baby girl Noura into the family. Noura, whose name was given by her grandfather, weighed 2.79kg at birth.

“We are really fortunate to welcome our newborn daughter during Eid, doubling our joy. She is our second daughter and we are grateful that she came to celebrate Eid with us. We would like to thank all members of the medical and nursing staff at Danat Al Emarat Hospital for the outstanding care they provided us with. Eid Mubarak," he said.
