Dubai Courts postpone hearings from March 22 until April 16

Urgent matters and criminal cases continue if accused is under custody

Dubai: Dubai Courts will postpone court hearings from Sunday, March 22, to April 16 as a precautionary measure against coronavirus.

Dubai Courts said in a statement that all court hearing at Cassation, Appeal and First Instance courts will be postponed from March 22 until April 16, 2020.

Labour, civil, commercial, property and personal status cases are under the postponement, however urgent and criminal cases will continue if the accused is under custody. Those on bail are under the postponement however. 

Dubai Courts said in a statement that people can still use smart services to check the status of their case.

The order has come in line with precautionary measures against COVID-19 to maintain the safety of the public after the World Health Oganization declared coronavirus a pandemic.

Courts urged the public to use its smart services while they will continue to facilitate remote working for its various sections.
