Flight carrying more than 200 passengers skids off the runway

Dubai: Bizarre images of a wreckage have surfaced on social media after a Turkish Airlines flight carrying more than 200 passengers skidded off the runway early Wednesday morning.

The flight TK 726 was attempting to land amid a dense fog in Kathmandu, Nepal according to media reports.

The Airbus 330, which flew from Istanbul, reportedly missed the runway while trying to land.

No serious injuries were reported and all the passengers have been evacuated.

“All 224 passengers have been evacuated, no injuries, everyone is safe,” an airport spokesperson was quoted as saying in an AFP report.
