Ramallah: Tomato shortages in the West Bank have triggered a sharp rise in prices and a subsequent ban on exports.

Residents of the West Bank have complained about the increased prices of tomatoes, saying they have been avoiding buying them.

Basheer Seraq Al Din, a Palestinian from Nablus said that the price of a carton, originally 20 shekels (Dh20.6) has risen to 150 shekels.
