Baghdad: Kuwait's prime minister has accepted an invitation to visit Iraq, according to an official statement on Monday.
Kuwaiti Prime Minister Shaikh Nasser Al Mohammad Al Sabah is expected to meet his Iraqi counterpart Nouri Al Maliki during the visit. It will be the first visit by a Kuwaiti prime minister to Iraq in 18 years.
"The premier accepted the invitation and its date will be determined soon through diplomatic channels," the government said in the statement.
Iraqi Finance Minister Bayan Jabr Solagh told reporters at the airport that it was agreed the visit would take place after Ramadan.
The leaders are expected to discuss reparations for Iraq's invasion and occupation of Kuwait, debts and borders.
