Israeli tank fire kills 6-year-old girl

Occupied Jerusalem: Palestinian officials say a 6-year-old girl has been killed by Israeli tank fire in Gaza.

Medics say the girl was decapitated by a shell. Dr. Moaiya Hassanain, a Palestinian Health Ministry official, says two others are being treated for injuries sustained in the shelling.

The Israeli military says early on Wednesday, soldiers opened fire at militants launching rockets into Israel.

Gaza militants fire rockets and mortars into Israel almost daily.

The military says the shelling occurred near the border where militants fired 30 rockets into Israel on Tuesday.
