Ankara: The state-run news agency said that an Iranian passenger bus has overturned in eastern Turkey, killing six people on board and injuring 45 others.
The Anatolia news agency said the incident occurred on Saturday in Bitlis province, some 200 kilometres from the Iranian border. It was not known what caused the accident.
The agency said the injured passengers were transported to nearby hospitals.
Thousands of people are killed in traffic accidents on Turkey's roads each year because of careless driving or poor road conditions.
