Father runs over one-year-old son

Ramallah: A man ran over his only child on Sunday in the backyard of his home in a village near Hebron in the West Bank.

Members of the family rushed one-year-old Rami Al Rawashidah to a hospital claiming that the child fell from the rooftop and suffered serious injuries, police said.

The hospital declared him dead and reported the matter to police who launched an investigation which revealed that the boy was run over by a car.

The father confessed to have accidentally killed his son when police confronted the infant's father with facts.

The Public Prosecution granted a bail request for the father.
