Tel Aviv: The son of former Israeli prime minister Ariel Sharon will be released this month after serving a prison term for campaign funding violations.
Omri Sharon will now be released on June 25 instead of late September after he asked on Sunday to have his sentence reduced on grounds of good behaviour.
Prosecutors said that Sharon illegally took $1.3 million to fund his father's campaign to head the Likud Party in 1999. The sum violated funding ceilings.
