Algiers: At least 13 people have been killed and more than 600 homes have been destroyed after flash floods swept throught the Ghardaia region of Algeria, state radio announced on Thursday.
Wednesday's floods were a result of heavy rains rain in the area, about 500 kilometres (300 miles) south of the seaside capital Algiers, it said.
