Dubai: A 30-year-old man died after being pulled into the engine of an aircraft preparing for take-off at Milan’s Bergamo airport, prompting the suspension of 19 flights, local authorities confirmed.

The incident occurred when the man reportedly ran in front of the plane while it was on the runway, moments before departure. It remains unclear how he managed to gain access to the restricted area.

Emergency crews responded to the scene, but the man was pronounced dead. The airport temporarily halted operations on one of its runways, causing delays and cancellations.

An investigation is now underway to determine the exact circumstances of the tragedy, including how the individual breached airport security and reached an active runway.
