Manama: A picture of Saudi Foreign Minister Adel Al Jubeir driving British counterpart Boris Johnson in the Saudi capital Riyadh is making the rounds on social media.

It is largely uncommon for Saudi dignatories to drive their guests around, but the release of the picture could be an intentional show of camaraderie between the two officials.

At the conference, Johnson said that he was in Riyadh to “emphasise the friendship that exists between the UK and Saudi Arabia, and that is something that is developing and expanding.”

“And it’s also fair to say that we believe in candour in our relationship. Now is the time for us to talk about the positive things that we are doing together,” Johnson said.

The picture was posted by Osama Nugali, the director of media at the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on his Instagram account.
