Saudi Arabia urges expats to register dependents’ fingerprints

Cairo: Saudi authorities have urged expatriates to register fingerprints of their families’ members for security and residency reasons, according to a news report.

The Saudi General Directorate for Passports noted that the fingerprinting is necessary for foreign residents aged six years and above, news portal Ajel reported.

“Registering the bio-features is a necessary requirement to complete procedures related to your family’s members from six years and above,” the agency told expatriates.

Foreigners make up around 10.5 million of Saudi Arabia’s total population of 34.8 million.
