Dubai: Eight expatriates have been arrested in separate security operations in Riyadh and Jeddah as Saudi authorities continue their crackdown on activities violating public morality laws, officials said Tuesday.

In Riyadh, three expatriate women were detained on charges of engaging in prostitution at a hotel. The arrests were made during a security raid conducted by the Riyadh Region Police in coordination with the General Department for Community Security and Combating Human Trafficking Crimes. The suspects were referred to the Public Prosecution after legal measures were completed.

Meanwhile, in Jeddah, five expatriates were arrested at a relaxation and body care centre for allegedly engaging in activities that violated public morals.

The operation, carried out by Jeddah Police in coordination with the same security unit, resulted in legal proceedings against the suspects. Authorities also confirmed that the Jeddah Mayoralty had taken punitive action against the massage centre for committing regulatory violations.
