Abu Dhabi: Saudi Arabia’s Public Prosecutor has issued an arrest warrant for a Saudi man after sufficient evidence showed that he committed a crime of violence against his daughter in the city of Jazan, in the southwest corner of Saudi Arabia, official sources said.
The action came after the Domestic Violence Reports Centre of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development received a report about a girl being subjected to abuse from her father, a source said.
The source pointed out that the Public Prosecution will demand strict penalties for the father.
The source said the Public Prosecution - with the participation of the criminal investigation authorities in the Kingdom - is following up everything that may prejudice human rights.
The source warned against using social media as a means of defamation, adding that all criminal investigation authorities - including the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development - have special platforms to report such crimes.
