Cairo: A Saudi baby has recovered from the novel coronavirus and transferred to the family’s house for domestic isolation, a state hospital has said.

A video released by the Dawadmi General Hospital in a Saudi province of the same name showed a medical crew carrying the baby into an ambulance that transferred him to his parents’ house.

“It has been decided to discharge the baby infected with Covid-19 after his recovery,” the hospital said on its Twitter account.

It added that the child, identified only by his first name Khalid, will undergo home isolation for a certain period in line with anti-infection and preventive measures.

Saudi Arabia has recorded so far a total of 2,463 coronavirus cases, including 34 deaths. Overall, 488 patients have recovered from the highly contagious ailment in the kingdom, according to official figures.
