Dubai: The Central Bank of Oman (CBO) has reminded that December 31, 2024, is the final day for citizens and residents to exchange outdated banknotes.
The bank urged individuals holding phased-out currency to act promptly to ensure a smooth transition in currency circulation and compliance with updated monetary policies.
The CBO has called on the public to visit any of its branches or authorised exchange centres to complete the exchange process before the deadline.
After December 31, outdated banknotes will cease to be valid for transactions and will no longer be accepted as legal tender, rendering them unusable in day-to-day commerce.
The Central Bank emphasised the importance of adhering to the deadline to avoid inconveniences and ensure compliance with Omani monetary regulations.
