Dubai: Two expatriate men have been arrested in Muscat on charges of trafficking in narcotic substances, Omani media reported.

The suspects have also been charged with having links to international drug trafficking gangs.

Police seized 23 kilogrames of crystal meth that were in their possession when arrested.

“The Directorate General of Combating Drugs and Psychotropic Substances arrested two expatriates linked to international smuggling gangs near Wilayat Qurayyat on charges of drug trafficking,” the Royal Oman Police (ROP) said in a statement.

They have been remanded in police custody pending further investigation and trial.
