Tuesday morning

- Members of the Unemployed Committee hold a rally near the Bahrain Training Institute in Eisa Town (12 kms south of Manama) to ask for jobs.

- Rally turns into calls to investigate the beating up and the sexual abuse of one of its members, Mousa Abdali, after victim talks about his ordeal.

- Demonstrators hold a rally near the Ministry of Interior in Manama to investigate the claims.

- About 200 demonstrators hold a rally near Bab Al Bahrain, the gateway to the Old Souk and then march through the area, prompting shops to pull down shutters.

Tuesday evening

- Scores of people hold a demonstration in old area of Manama, but are prevented by police from reaching other areas.

- Demonstration turns violent, clashes between protestors and the police. No victims reported but cars damaged.

- Souk area sealed off for three hours.

Wednesday evening

- Demonstrators organise a march in Manama, but as police prevent them from reaching other areas, they throw stones and Molotov cocktails at security forces. Torch two police cars and set rubbish bins and tyres ablaze.

- Religious figures refuse to endorse the violent protests.

Thursday evening

- Activists from the Unemployed Committee call off a demonstration in Sanabis near hypermarket, but they are largely ignored.

- About 80 protestors assemble in Sanabis and seek to block nearby highway. Police intervene and disperse them. 15 young people are arrested.

Friday

- Imams, human rights activists call for highest levels of self-restraint and for truth about sexual claims.

- Demonstrators march to the home of alleged victim to express support. Incident-free night.
