COVID-19: Bahrain bans gatherings again

Dubai: Due to an increase in COVID-19 infections, Bahrain has announced it will ban once again all gatherings, celebrations, weddings or conferences in hotels, restaurants, halls, lounges and all open and closed event houses until further notice.

According to local media, Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) has issued the directives to all hotels, tourist establishments and their facilities in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

No gatherings

The authority said in a circular to tourism establishments and hotels: “Based on the Public Health Law No. 34 of 2018 to prevent the spread of COVID-19, and considering the current situation, all tourist and hotel establishments and their facilities must not hold any gatherings, celebrations, weddings or conferences in hotels, restaurants, halls, lounges and all open and closed event houses until further notice.”

Last week, the Health Ministry recorded a significant increase in the number of existing cases of the Coronavirus, after conducting contact tracing operations that showed an increase in infection among women and children. This, according to officials, is due to lack of commitment and societal contact between parents and relatives.
