Bahrain to resume normal working hours for government employees

Dubai: Bahrain’s Civil Service Bureau announced on Monday that all government employees will return to normal working hours beginning Tuesday, June 24, reversing a remote work directive that had been implemented just one day earlier amid rising regional tensions.

All ministries and government entities will return to normal office hours, the bureau said in a statement carried by Bahrain News Agency (BNA). On Saturday, Bahrain ordered 70 percent of government staff to work remotely until further notice, citing current regional circumstances and the need to prioritise public safety.

The temporary measure excluded essential sectors requiring on-site operations or those functioning under emergency protocols.

No further details were provided regarding the decision to lift the remote work order just one day after it was implemented, aside from confirmation that full operations across all government bodies will resume on Tuesday.
