Bahrain reports 626 new COVID-19 cases

Dubai: Bahrain’s Ministry of Health has announced the detection of 626 new cases of COVID-19, taking the overall tally of confirmed infections to 53,433.

Health officials said that 105 expatriate workers were detected with the virus in the past 24 hours, 515 others were infected from local contacts of active cases and six are travel related.

The ministry said an additional 368 people recovered from COVID-19, taking the total number of recoveries to 50,013. Of the 3,230 active cases, 70 are receiving treatment and 39 are in critical condition.

Meanwhile, three COVID-19 patients have succumbed to the deadly virus, which takes the Kingdom’s death toll up to 193.

The latest cases were detected after the ministry conducted more than 11,734 new COVID-19 tests, pushing the total number of tests done so far to 1,140,563.
