Kapisa: Three US soldiers were killed today when their convoy was attacked by a roadside bomb and small-arms fire in the eastern Afghan province of Kapisa.
A fourth person, whose nationality isn't yet known, was injured, the US military said in an e-mailed statement.
Another US soldier was killed two days ago, and four were killed June 1 in two separate roadside bombings. A total of 621 members of the US military have died in Afghanistan since American troops arrived in late 2001.
President Barack Obama is sending another 21,000 troops to Afghanistan to counter increasing insurgent attacks in the east and south of the country.
